In 1956 the Marquis Gallarati-Scotti and his wife, Lavinia Taverna, bought a rural property in the Tor San Lorenzo zone. Part of this was devoted to the creation of a romantic and unusual place: the gardens. They were designed by landscape architect Russell Page and, over the years, constantly modified and extended. Currently, they cover an area of over ten hectares, divided into "rooms", each with its own character and atmosphere, but united by a sense of a balanced and pleasing space.
In this way, English - style and formal rooms alternate, with naturalness and charm. True botanical jewels, the gardens lead visitors along a magical and enchanted route, through a succession of emotions.
The Oranges Garden, the Blanc Avenue, the Ancient Roses Valley, the Spanish Basin, the Callas Lake are true "paradises" of sensory delights. At present, the Landriana Gardens belong to Stefanina Aldobrandini, caring and sensitive heir of Lavinia Taverna. The Landriana Gardens offer to the fans of the great botany two fixed dates during the year: the Primavera alla Landriana (Spring at Landriana) and Autunno alla Landriana (Autumn at Landriana) two markets on gardening, botany, garden furniture and much more that find, each year, a large success of public.
Furthermore, various theatrical and musical events, with the fabulous and unique scenery of the gardens, are offered to the public, with the participation of prestigious artists.
